As a breeder and trainer I socialize all my young dogs and strongly discourage any acts of aggression or the urge to fight other dogs, even a growl or arched tail are addressed.  I breed for an excellent temperament and intelligence in my dogs.  Now I wonder if that is fair to them to take away their instinct to protect their selves against aggressive dogs.
Dedicated to two young   females that were destinedfor great achievements.
This was my Jezzy female pup. I'll admit a little spoiled. Going on 6 months of age, she slipped her collar and got out of the yard. I had an appointment in town and figured I would put her back in when I got back. This was Dec. 3,09. I have not seen her since and no one around has either. She was very intelligent and knew the woods well behind the house from frequent walks. She should have had no problem finding her way home. She was well into her basic obedience training. Sit,down, stay, come, fetch and return. House broken and stayed inside most of the time. Was being trained for obedience rally and agility.and doing great for a beginner.
Above is Snowball. She was a black female that was turning bi-color. She was a very lovable dog With a grest temparment and well started into ob training. She was killed by two pit bulls. She was a submissive pup and was trying to get back in the yard when they got her.
